A sexbot (also sexdroid, lovebot, or any variation of those terms) is a robot designed and manufactured primarily for the purpose of having sex with its owner or operator. These robots are usually anatomically correct, and can also have fluid self-lubrication systems as well as realistic human-like genitalia.
Realism is often a key design goal with this type of android, as they are expected to perform a wide range of sex acts from oral sex to masturbation to penetration.
"Love" can also be part of a sexbot's functionality. This can be a programmed simulation, or as often the case in fiction, an unintended side effect of regular use. This can raise issues of sentience and self awareness.
