Thanks for cleaning up my articles. I think I'm gettin the hang of it now. Borias 16:42, 8 March 2008 (PST)

You're welcome! Good to see you contributing so much. ;) Robotman 17:08, 8 March 2008 (PST)

In regard to follow your own plot, it's rather hard to find out what was the last number used for the unwritten links, so I thought ethier we could put unwritten in all the unwritten link so they'll appear on the list, or put a last used number on the first page. (this lastone has some problems because if one person forgets it messes the whole thing up.) what do you think? The Liar 08:14, 9 March 2008 (PDT)

I personally find it much easier to use the "Show preview" button before hitting "Save page". That way, if the link is red, I know the page number hasn't yet been used. If it's blue, then it has. Another way you could do it is to look at (maybe keep it open in a separate tab) and refresh it when you need to check. Or if you remember to add the category to your new pages, you can check (refreshing as needed) to see what page number comes next. I think creating pages marked as empty would be a bad idea, because then you wouldn't be able to use those 3 techniques. Robotman 09:57, 9 March 2008 (PDT)
Um, those methods don't work. Even if a number has been used in a option it will still apear red if no one has put anything in it, nor will they appear on any of the lists. Example: FYOP/The Lab Scene/0003 or seen as Very artificial both in appearance and bahaviour?. The Liar 10:30, 9 March 2008 (PDT)
Oh, sorry... I thought you were asking something slightly different. I haven't really thought about that one.... you could try whatever you think would work best. Let me know how it works out... and if it's a good system, you can include it in the FYOP instructions. Robotman 10:32, 9 March 2008 (PDT)
It occurs to me that adding options is unnecessary unless you intend on using them, as people can just put whatever option they want when they plan on continuing the story, there by sidestepping the problem. The Liar 16:36, 9 March 2008 (PDT)
That's sort of my line of thinking. This kind of thing is rather tricky to keep sorted out, isn't it? Robotman 16:53, 9 March 2008 (PDT)

Unsorted Pics

I've uploaded the rest of the pics that have been sitting on my hard drive for a while - now saved for posterity. A lot of them look like Xeran's work, but I'm not sure, so I'll leave it to you or someone else to sort. I don't want to misplace any credit! Drrotwang 21:16, 8 April 2008 (PDT)

Re: Hello

I plan on having fun here - I've already had a lot of fun just reading the stories and looking at the gallery. :)

I just wanted to say I looked at the Recent Changes log, and I really appreciate the sheer amount of work you do for this wiki, and Fembot Central in general. Thank you for your dedication. Borias 13:52, 27 October 2008 (PDT)

You're very welcome. ;) Robotman 18:12, 27 October 2008 (PDT)
Just wanted to add my thanks for all you're doing here, and for the welcome wagon! I'm going to try to do my share around here.TheSpotConlon 21:42, 22 February 2009 (PST)

Armageddon Pics

What movie are these from? I have searched IMDB for "Armageddon" but i am not finding anything related to these pics.Velda2222 20:12, 19 February 2009 (PST)

Thank You

I strongly wish to post my work here, but you know my pics are not allowed on FC and here. But the law here stated that is if the photo is not showing prtvate parts, it's no problem. And overage student is common in my place, when I was at class 7, I had a classmate which was 15 years old. When in class 11, a classmate was 20. Deep Blue 02:36, 28 th April, 2010. (HKT)

Book-like formatting of stories

Hi Robotman,

As you certainly have noticed, I've pimped the formatting of my ongoing story a little bit. I like it to look like a printed book but I'm a fan of the KISS principle, too. It bugs me that I have to insert manually <p style="margin-top: 2ex; text-indent: 3em;"> on every paragraph to get a book-like formatting with hanging indent and a little more spacing between story paragraphs. This additional syntactic sugar could be removed by placing

.story p { margin-top: 2ex; text-indent: 3em; }

in the MediaWiki:Common.css page. That way anyone who likes this book-like formatting can place a <div class="story"> around the story and leave the text itself untouched. Completely optional and without side effects on non-tagged texts, though I think all the stories in the archive would profit.

What do you think? Good/Bad idea? -- Darkbutflashy 11:20, 28 February 2014 (PST)

I think that's a great idea, and I've added it to the CSS page. I'll let the people on FC know that they can use it in their stories when they add them to FW too. Thanks. :D Robotman 13:15, 28 February 2014 (PST)

FC domain down

Have you guys forgot to pay the domain registration fee? ^__^; It seems to be dropped by the dreamhost nameserver. -- Darkbutflashy 06:28, 23 November 2014 (PST)

The issue of payment isn't under our direct involvement, but I'm working with Kishin on trying to get the site back up. Robotman 08:48, 23 November 2014 (PST)

Imagemap extension

Hi Robotman,

it would be nice to have the Imagemap extension on this wiki. That way, people could (more or less easily) take existing images into articles, tag spots on them and link them to newly created description subpages. One even could make an image-FYOP.

Personally I would like to use this for some visual effects in my own story arc. -- Darkbutflashy 12:13, 2 December 2014 (PST)

It's an interesting concept, but our version of MediaWiki doesn't support it. Robotman 18:33, 2 December 2014 (PST)
I found a way to simulate it. No as nifty as the image maps, but works for me. Click the faces, see the sources. I think of making a template of it so it's easier to use. -- Darkbutflashy 18:45, 3 December 2014 (PST)

Nicely done! Feel free to make a template. Robotman 19:19, 3 December 2014 (PST)

I tried, but because the template processor is trying to be intelligent on styles, it isn't possible. So please delete Template_talk:Cimap and Template:Cilink. Anyone who likes to use the hack has to paste the above source code into the article by hand. -- Darkbutflashy 17:00, 14 December 2014 (PST)
Okay, too bad the template didn't work out. Maybe you can leave the code up on your userpage and let people know about it on FC. Robotman 18:23, 14 December 2014 (PST)

Make the preview animated

How do you make the preview of an animated GIF animated? FacelessFembot 21:03, 4 March 2015 (PST)

The MediaWiki software is supposed to automatically generate an animated thumbnail for every animated gif image that gets uploaded. But there's a bug that prevents this from happening sometimes, so some animated gifs don't have animated thumbnails. Re-uploading the image won't fix it either. There's really nothing we can do, and that's one of the reasons why the animated image template exists. Robotman 09:27, 5 March 2015 (PST)

Most definitely will. thank you. I've got a lot of stock screenshots. :)

What is this image from?

Wondering what media this cap was from? That looks like an original, albeit modified, fembot face!! Rickdrat (talk) 21:49, 24 February 2019 (PST)

It's from an episode of the original Battlestar Galactica called "War of the Gods". I was doing a DuckDuckGo search and found the high-res version. Haven't found the episode, or been able to work it into any manips yet, but soon. ;) Robotman (talk) 05:51, 25 February 2019 (PST)
About 29:30 in. You're welcome. :D You pretty much have all there is to see from the episode. Rickdrat (talk) 22:01, 25 February 2019 (PST)
Can't watch it outside the US, but it's nice to know there's some extra "robot" content out there. :) Robotman (talk) 05:48, 26 February 2019 (PST)
