Magnus Robot Fighter

Magnus, Robot Fighter is a comic book series created by writer/artist Russ Manning, first published by Gold Key Comics in 1963 (full title: Magnus, Robot Fighter 4000 A.D.).1
Set in the year 4000 AD, it depicts a future where humans rely heavily on robots, some of which turn rogue and threaten humanity. The protagonist, Magnus, is an orphaned human raised from infancy in a secret undersea base by a loyal robot named 1A. Trained to peak physical perfection with superhuman strength, durability, and martial arts expertise, Magnus fights these robots bare-handed to prevent a robot uprising and encourage human self-reliance. 1 2 3
The series ran until 1977 (46 issues), was revived by Valiant Comics in 1991 (adding themes like robot free will and class conflict between surface dwellers and "gophs"), and has seen later publications by Dark Horse and Dynamite. 4
