My name is Irina Volkow and for sure you already have spotted I am a cybernetically enhanced woman. This is not my tale, but that of my dear friend, Ayako Ontemba. She's a cyborg woman like me. Dark has written down her story and has asked me to tell it to you as I have more insight than him on how it is to become and to be a machine woman. I hope I can give you an impression.

Ayako and I work for Olympus ESWAT. Dark has said to me you may already know Olympus from the famous Manga Appleseed from the even more famous artist Masamune Shirow. If you don't, buy a copy of it and read it. It's really great stuff featuring sturdy women and a lot of awesome machines. Just sturdy, awesome machine women are missing there - Shirow created Ghost in the Shell afterwards to fill that gap in his work. However, you may get the picture even without reading those books. Let your fantasy flow.
What Dark has really told me to impress upon you is this isn't a piece of fanfiction for Appleseed. You may remember some of the people in the story, well, because those are the guys and gals Ayako and I work with every day. But do not expect this story to circle around Deunan and Briareos or have their characters developed —or worse, repeated. It has been 20 years since the events of Appleseed and in the meantime, Deunan has followed Lance as ESWAT chief, while Lance had retired and has since been working as a honorary counselor for international police cooperation. Briareos has become the old hand of ESWAT for good reasons and is still taking the squad lead most of the time, like he had done before.
A lot of other things happened in the last 20 years. but it is still undecided whether Olympus is an utopia or dystopia. Maybe that's just how life goes. Worldwide political instability, social imbalance, and —to spice it up— plain crime leads to all kinds of violence against the citizens of Olympus. Which is the reason why our ESWAT unit is still needed.
Ayako and I mainly work as hostage negotiators and —when negotiations fail— as hostage rescuers. The latter only since... oh well, I better tell the story Dark has taken down up from the beginning to avoid spoiling the best parts.
A last note from me, especially on these "best parts": both Ayako and I are real women with real feelings. Human feelings. We certainly get physical too, and I will report it unsparingly, like Dark has written it down. But if you just rush through the remaining story to get to these hot & steamy parts, you are going to miss the whole point of them. Which is feelings and how adorable we are as persons. Plus, I will punish you, and not in the good, sexual way.
Aww, now I cannot await the moment where I'm up to tell you what happened to me regarding this: it's so freaking cool to have a body like this. I never expected the sex. . . .
