JC Chasez and "Pinky Tennis"

Plug It In is a song by Basement Jaxx from their 2003 album "Kish Kash". The vocals are sung by former 'N Sync member JC Chasez. The video is one of the best known examples of robotic acting, and features 6 sexy female robots.

Synopsis

Two bumbling security guards (Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx) show up for work at "Second Hand Supermodels", sellers of female androids. They are shown loafing around and watching TV commercials for some of their company's products. After a while, they hit on the bright idea of going out to the warehouse area to actually play with the sexy robots, which are only a short distance away.

The guards activate the robots by "plugging them in" and look at the instruction book to see how to operate them. The six robot ladies now activated are brought into motion by the clumsy handling of the joystick remote control unit operated by the guards. Due to the carelessness of the security guards, the fembots are worked into overdrive, and begin to malfunction and spark. They catch fire and are eventually destroyed, just as the "boss" walks in.

The robots

Pinky Tennis

Pinky Tennis is the first robot seen in the video. She is first demonstrated in action doing laundry, and apparently ready for a game of tennis. She is a robot made to have an Asian appearance. The actress portraying her has the best robotic motion of all the actresses.

Furry Fire

Furry Fire is shown after having arrived in a crate at a customer's home. She is dressed in a sexy fire-fighter costume and is made to have African features.

Mile Heidi

Mile Heidi is a sultry, overtly sexual stewardess robot. She wears a sky-blue uniform and is

Cuddly Cop

Cuddly Cop wears a skimpy police uniform, and is tied for the #1 favourite spot among Fembot Central members [1].

"The Librarian"

The Librarian is tied with Cuddly Cop for the favourite girl from this video[2]. She appears to be a late addition to the video, as during the malfunction and damage scenes near the end of the video, there are no props used to portray her as being destroyed. Her scenes in the video are very brief, but quite memorable.

"The Bride"

The Bride also has brief scenes in the video, and is dressed in a white wedding gown.

"The work-in-progress"

This robot is a mannequin that has been altered to make it look like a half-constructed fembot. It stands supported from behind, and near the end of the video it can be seen "walking".

Lyrics

Look in the mirror time to face up

Ever tried to live without the photographs and money
Don't have to live behind the make-up
Cos all I want is what's itching inside of u

Cos I saw you sitting in the rain with the tears running down, running down your face
It makes me shiver when I see u like this
But just open u'r eyes and watch it fade away
Cos I saw you sitting in the rain with the tears running down, running down your face
Can't u see it's a masquerade so get u'rself together

Plug it in plug it in baby
Where u been, where u been baby
Plug it in plug it in baby
Where u been, where u been baby

I wouldn't say that its so serious
I know u think u'r in a tragic condition
U know that I'm a little bit more than curious
When all I want is what's kicking inside of you

Cos I saw you sitting in the rain with the tears running down, running down your face
It makes me shiver when I see u like this
But just open u'r eyes and watch it fade away
Cos I saw you sitting in the rain with the tears running down, running down your face
Can't u see it's a masquerade so get u'rself together

Plug it In plug it in baby
Where u been, where u been baby
Plug it in plug it in baby
Where u been, where u been baby

Ever tried to live without the makeup

Plug it in, plug it in baby...
